The World Health Organization (WHO)
“Breastfeeding is an unequalled way of providing ideal food for the healthy growth and development of infants; it is also an integral part of the reproductive process with important implications for the health of mothers. As a global public health recommendation, infants should be exclusively breastfed for the first six months of life to achieve optimal growth, development and health. Thereafter, to meet their evolving nutritional requirements, infants should receive nutritionally adequate and safe complementary foods while breastfeeding continues for up to two years of age or beyond. Exclusive breastfeeding from birth is possible except for a few medical conditions, and unrestricted exclusive breastfeeding results in ample milk production.”

Amy is a New Smyrna Beach native and mom of 2 boys. Amy has been providing breastfeeding and parenting support to moms and babies in Volusia County for nearly 10 years.
After years of informally supporting and encouraging moms on their breastfeeding journey, Amy obtained her certification as a Lactation Counselor in 2013 from the American Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. Since that time, Amy has worked as a Certified Lactation Counselor independently, and alongside local pediatricians.
From 2012-2015, Amy owned and operated a small baby food business, offering fresh, organic baby food at local farmers markets. Amy then began teaching baby food making classes. These fun, interactive baby food "cooking" classes educate parents and inspire them to make healthy and fresh baby food at home!
Amy has a passion for supporting all moms, offering education, ideas, and proven techniques to help empower them on their parenting journey. Amy takes a friendly, warm approach with parents, with the ultimate goal being a "happy, healthy mom AND happy, healthy baby".
